Deck: 24 cards, A K Q J 10 9 in each suit. Four players in fixed partnerships, five cards each, next card turned face-up as up-card; the other three form the kitty.
Make trump in two rounds. First: anyone may order the up-card’s suit, which makes the dealer pick it up and discard one. Second: if all pass, anyone may name a different suit. If all pass again and Stick the Dealer is on, the dealer must choose.
Trump rank: Right Bower (J of trump), Left Bower (J of same-color suit), then A K Q 10 9 of trump. The Left Bower counts as trump for following suit.
Play five tricks. Follow suit if able. Highest trump takes the trick, otherwise highest of the led suit. Maker’s side needs 3+ tricks.
Scoring: Makers 3–4 tricks = 1 point, sweep = 2. Defenders’ euchre = 2. Going alone and sweeping = 4.
